Lots of dog owners can’t abide the idea of leaving the family pet in the kennel when it’s time for a trip – that dog is practically a member of the family! Dogs can be messy, though. Even if they don’t track dirt and leaves into the car, they can still leave loose fur (and a smell) behind. Here’s a selection of travel accessories that can make life on the road with your dog a little easier for everyone involved: - Door Shields: When you think about a dog in a car, one of the first thing that comes to mind is a dog hanging his head out the open window to take in the breeze. Unfortunately, that’s something that can be pretty rough on your door panels and surfaces. Door shields are made from sturdy nylon cordura, in colors that match or contrast with many interiors. They hang over the door panels for protection, and mount quickly and easily by hooking a set of tabs into the window channel.
- Dog Car Harness: Seatbelts are mandatory for human passengers in pretty much every state. It’s impossible to fit a seatbelt for a dog, of course, but a dog car harness is the next closest thing. It’s designed to restrain your dog during a sharp turn or sudden stop, but still give him enough freedom to move around the back seat…and when it’s time for walkies, just attach the leash to the dog car harness and he’s ready to go!
- Pet Ramps: It’s easy for a robust young dog to jump in and out of a truck or SUV, but a less-active, arthritic older dog is likely to have some trouble. A pet ramp is just the thing for older pets, with a grippy, high-traction surface and four rubber feet to keep the ramp in place. The telescoping design means that the ramp is light and compact for storage, with no folding or unfolding involved.
- Seat Covers: A muddy or dirty dog can wreak a lot of havoc on a car interior pretty quickly! Seat covers are great, but they’re designed to stay in place once installed. A blanket is OK, but a dog can get a blanket bunched-up in a wad. How about a specially-designed seat cover for dogs? These seat covers are easy to put in and remove again, and made out of an easily-washable water-repellent fabric ; they’re also designed to protect your floorboard and the back of your front seats while the dog is on board.
- Pet Cleanup: Hey, it happens sometimes. Even the most well-housebroken dog can have an accident in the car, or can get sick from motion sickness or nerves. Our spot remover is perfect for pet cleanup, breaking down stains at the molecular level so they can easily be vacuumed or scrubbed out of fabrics.
