It’s kind of astonishing how quickly kids can make the interior of a minivan, car or SUV into a sticky mess (and how many trade-in minivans still have a Hot Wheels car or a tiny toy in some forgotten crevice). You need to be able to clean up spills in a car easily while keeping the kid passengers occupied and safe on a long trip. A car organizer can help, as well as plenty of trash-catchers (and maybe a DVD player). Here are some other ideas for you:
- Grip-It: Child seats need to be anchored securely and safely to be effective. Grip-It gives plenty of traction for child seats, while offering protection from food for the upholstery. Easy to install, with cut-outs for seat belts.
- Door Shields: Door panels can take a beating from kids, dogs, or bulky cargo like bicycles, and fabric door panel surfaces can be hard to clean. Head off damage with a nylon cordura door shield; they install quickly and easily by tucking their tabs into the window channel. Available in gray, black, or tan, to match or contrast with many interior colors.
- Trash Stand: Kids can generate a lot of trash in a car. It helps, though, if they have plenty of places to put their trash, and preferably something sturdier than a plastic grocery bag. While you’re setting up your car with various car-organizer products, don’t forget to look at our well-designed trash stands and other trash receptacles that can help keep kid-related garbage under control.
- Kick Guards: One more thing to protect your interior from muddy feet, dirty pets and other messes! Kids get bored and rambunctious on a long trip, and a heavy nylon cordura kick guard hanging from the headrest of your front seat can help preserve your upholstery and seat back from damage and stains.
